Tacoma Goodwill Dream Maker Celebration

Every year the Tacoma Goodwill holds an event to thank and celebrate their Dream Makers for their generous donations. Students of the Goodwill’s programs share their encouraging stories, and the Dream Makers are treated to a special evening. This year it was held at the Foss Waterway Seaport Museum. We embellished the event with a nautical flair in a pallet of pacific blue and accents of orange.

A canopy was added to the cavernous space was a warm and welcoming entry. Iridescent sea-foam blue drapery was embellished with Japanese glass floats and netting at the top, and propped with nautical grass and pier pilings at the base.

Loose cymbidium orchids and shells added a whimsical touch to the registration tables, buffets and bar.

The stage was done in iridescent sea-foam blue drapery with a water projection machine that gave the stage a rippling water effect. The front of the stage was propped in vintage crab pots instead of skirting. A clear podium was also used to continue the nautical theme.

Cocktail tables were dressed in burlap style linens and topped with a "tippy vase" filled with white river rocks and orange cymbidium orchids. The centerpieces sat on vintage fish-netting with shells and starfish at the base.

The sit-down tables had aquatic blue/green crush linens and a larger cymbidium orchid centerpieces in 10" bias-cut bowls. Like the smaller cocktail table centerpieces, they sat on vintage fish-netting with shells and starfish at the base.

Theros Sneak Preview at PAX Prime 2013

In anticipation for the launch of Wizards of the Coast’s new Magic card came, Theros, the Showbox Market was transformed into the mythical world for a preview party extravaganza! Dramatic lighting, ethereal canopies decorated in weaponry, grass matting, twinkling vines, and rustic lanterns gave the familiar venue a whole new look!

From 1st Avenue, guests entered the venue to a rustic, vine wrapped muslin and jute archway. The arch was decorated with hanging iron lanterns and tall faux battle staffs lashed to the up-rights, and two 8 ft. tall rusted iron topiaries.

An up-lit, natural sheer, muslin & jute canopy with vines and swords, provided a fun gathering area for guests and, also, helped brighten the overall space by providing a bright surface for light reflection.

The mid bar terrace had two seating arrangements, each consisting of a rattan and canvas sofa with classic white pedestal occasional tables on straw rugs.

Grecian lounges with white leatherette chaise sofas accented with faux fur throws and décor pillows embellished the canopy covered VIP lounge. Lanterns were embellished with leather and swords for the scattered centerpieces in the VIP lounge.

Canopies were decorated with rustic iron lanterns that hung over head.

Dramatic lighting by Hollywood Lights - Seattle transitioned the room from dusk to night during the event.

The vines around the room twinkled off and on with fairy LED lights.

Small embellishments detailed each piece.

Bollywood Gala!

Every year Annie Wright School comes up with an elaborate theme for their annual Gator Gala, and this past March we were all about Bollywood!

The foyer was an enchanting box-office with festoon and lantern lighting, painted star backdrops and colorful drapery.

The ballroom was covered floor to ceiling in vibrant purple drapery with lush pull backs revealing another color framed in festoon lighting. A custom three tier chandelier was constructed with 30 large cloth Indian lanterns that dazzled as the focal point of the room! Each seat was fitted with a metallic GOLD cover and embellished with embroidered ties. Every other table had a centerpiece of Indian Glass lanterns on a mirror tray with loose floral and tea lights. The other tables had light-boxes showcasing auction glass.
