Gator Gala

This weekend we went bold & vibrant for the Gator Gala! They chose a circus theme this year with artwork in red, peacock blue, purple, and gold - perfect for our exclusive collection of drape! We made the foyer a "tent" with delicate pullbacks for doorways. A vintage painted drapery backdrop hung in the ballroom and was pulled through the doorway to the foyer creating a whimsical tunnel entry into the ballroom.

The Ballroom was striped in red, purple, gold and blue satin drape. A dazzling ten foot round gilded chandelier with cascading tufted organza was the main focal point in the space. We created playful gold canopies over the auction tables to carry the tent motif throughout the night. Table decor and centerpieces alternated between two fanciful looks. Half of the tables were adorned in gold crochet linens over red underlays with 3' tall vases topped with back ostrich feather plums. The rest had red duchess satin linens with art-glass (part of the silent auction) displayed on our new light boxes! The light boxes are sleek and blend into any table design while showcasing art-glass flawlessly in low event lighting!

To complete the circus them, a human element was added to entertain guests. Two performers danced & decorated cupcakes for their audience while also selling raffle tickets.

Once again we have all of King Dahl's essentials for event design:
• A memorable entry treatment
• Focal Points
• Interesting use of lighting (look at the chandelier!)
• A human element
• & Great food!

2012 ECA Award Winners!

Last night was The Emerald City Applause Awards by ISES, and what a night! We won not one but THREE awards!

Best Event Marketing Campaign
for GOG at PAX Prime

With marketing goals such as sharing the concept of their company on a brand new platform, creating mass media attention, and cutting even with the cost of the event; GOG.com was able to exceed these goals and steal the show at the largest gaming tradeshow in the United States. This was accomplished not by the traditional gamer aesthetic of bright, large, and loud; but through two very different approaches rarely used at gamer tradeshows: scent and nostalgia. Our team played a key role in this exciting achievement.

Best Event for a Corporation Budget $25,001-$100,000
for Night At The Museum

‘A Night at the Museum’ in the Museum of Natural Mystery was a progressive Halloween event designed for multi-age guests at the Microsoft Commons. The event started two weeks before Halloween, gradually morphing The Commons into a haunted Museum of Natural Mystery. The climax occurred on Halloween day with ‘A Night at the Museum’ inspired Haunted House built inside a four room meeting space. As attendees wandered through thematic galleries, displays came to life (with actors from Clowns Unlimited)while sensory accents created an ambience of suspense. Our goal was to create & deliver an exciting and unexpected experience following a believable yet enchanted storyline to an anticipated 15,000 guests.

• Best Industry Organization Team Effort Budget $25,001-$100,000
for Wizard of Oz

A combination of Hollywood Lighting, Blue Danube Productions, & PJ Hummel & Company transformed St. Joesph School's auditorium intro a magical Wizard of Oz Fantasy world for their annual fundraiser!

Museum of Natural Mystery - Episode 2

See Episode 1 here

Episode 2:
PJ Hummel & Company does a haunted fun-house for halloween!

A magical exhibit from the “Museum of Natural Mystery” has just arrived! Installation of the exhibits began in mid October and will culminate on the night of Halloween with a special costume party called “A Night at the Museum.”

As the story goes, an Egyptian tomb was discovered and brought to campus to showcase the curiosity of this ancient world. The exhibit arrived in crates & as the weeks went on, things begin to change as a spell took hold.

The excavators and moving team have stirred up much more trouble than they had bargained for! A ghostly spell has been unleashed on the rest of the museum!

Get Hitched Give Hope 2011

We partnered with Get Hitched Give Hope this year to make the event extra flashy with a touch of PJ for a good cause. GHGH is a organization that raises money for carefully chosen charities, throwing a yearly event where brides can shop for wedding services and products.

This year we debuted our over sized birdcages with crystal chandeliers inside, they were stunning entry pieces. We draped the main entrance, created a lovely stage treatment with a satin canopy - diamond bead drape and wrought iron branches, and let florists go nuts with out 14' tall metal trees. PJ Hummel & Company showcased more in a side room with out glow bars and favorite furniture pieces.

The event was a great success for the organization, and we wish them well!

Northwest Event Show ~ B&E 2011!

This week, PJHC made it's yearly pilgrimage to the the Northwest Banquet & Event Show. This is one of our favorite projects of the year, because we get to be the client! It's all about showing off our favorite things. We always help sponsor the show, providing decor for the registration area and attendee lounge, in exchange for the freedom to do something crazy in our booth.

This year's theme: Indian Indulgence, and our swing was back by popular demand! Our booth was a hit and won the award for Best Booth Overall! Many thanks to the Northwest Event Show for making this all possible!

Here are a few of our favorite photos:
